Guinea Fowl: Nature’s Pest Control
Guinea fowl are social birds that thrive in flocks, with a recommended group size of six or more. They are low-maintenance and cost-effective, making them an excellent choice for farms and homesteads. Known for their natural pest control abilities, guinea fowl help manage populations of ants, flies, wasps, grubs, grasshoppers, ticks, and more reducing the need for chemical treatments. Many ranchers also keep them as a natural deterrent to rattlesnakes.
Domestic guinea hens lay eggs seasonally. Their eggs are light brown, sometimes speckled, and have shells that are up to three times thicker than those of chicken eggs.
